Walking past the bakery windows, you’d press your face up to the glass, eyes locked on the trays of golden egg tarts fresh out of the oven. The wobbly custard glistened under the lights, perfectly set inside its flaky, buttery shell.

You’d savor each bite, careful not to let the layers of pastry crumble too fast but they always did, falling into the little silver paper wrapping. A tiny, sweet indulgence that never felt too grown up or too childish — just right.
